You sometimes wonder why it feels so hard to be happy

Maybe you've accomplished most of the goals you set out to achieve in life, but still, something feels like it's missing.

You’re a “do-er.” You manage so much every day-even perhaps despite a fair amount of adversity-so why does it feel like happiness is just sliding through your fingers?

Or maybe, despite all your efforts, you notice yourself responding to situations in ways you never expected, causing you to wonder if you are turning into your parent whose harmful actions you tried so hard to leave behind.

Sometimes, the things you do to cope or distract yourself become problems in their own right: working too much, spending time online, eating, drinking, or other forms of escape.

therapy helps you feel less alone on your path

You are not alone

If you're angry, sad, lonely, or having trouble trusting or being close to the people you care about, there is hope.

I have helped countless people understand themselves and their feelings better to start living more in-the-moment each day.

Here are some common reasons people come to see me

Trouble in your relationships

Maybe you find yourself turning into the teenage version of yourself around your family of origin. Or you can't connect to your spouse or your kids in the way you'd like to.

Overloaded by caring for others

You might be caring for your kids, your partner, or your aging parents, and while you may put on a good front, you feel burnt out.

Cope with difficult or traumatic experiences

Whether it's something that happened far in your past or more recently, from childhood abuse or neglect to relationship trauma such as betrayal or divorce, I can help.

Learn how to use your voice

Perhaps you're the kind of person who puts others' needs first or avoids conflict at all costs. It's a learning curve, and I can help you navigate it.

What to Expect in Our Sessions

This is hard work, and I will be there with you as we go deeper into stories than you typically have in the past. While I may be asking you challenging questions to consider, we will always do it at a pace we set together, and use some humor along the way.

Because I will only be there to listen, support, and laugh with you for one hour per week, I sometimes recommend incorporating other supports to utilize during the other 167 hours to help you reach your goals. That might look like:

  • Support groups

  • Books or podcasts to deepen our work

  • Mindfulness or meditation

  • Meeting with a psychiatrist, if needed
